Jolene Mattson is a senior process engineer with over 10 years of diverse experience in simplifying diamond manufacturing, purifying plant-based proteins for foods, and recovering and purifying fermentation products. She is passionate about promoting more sustainable approaches to manufacturing materials, and she brings a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done. She attended Laney College where she obtained an AS in Science, and graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a BS in Chemical Engineering.
Jolene found Intropic Materials through a 2021 Berkeley News article that her husband shared with her – she thought it sounded like a cool mission but was skeptical about the stage of the company. Fast-forward to a year later, when Jolene was looking for work, she remembered the article and cold messaged Aaron (Intropic’s CEO) on LinkedIn. Because of the strong value alignment, Jolene’s experience, and the right time & right place nature of it all, Jolene became Intorpic’s first employee.
Growing up in Montana, Jolene spent half of her young life living outdoors and quite often would go to grade school straight from a campsite. Outside of work, she enjoys working in her yard, making art, learning new languages, being a mom, and hiking with her dog.
