How is Intropic Materials re-engineering plastics?

Ting Xu, a materials science professor at UC Berkeley, and her lab have been working on re-engineering plastics. Her lab found that a new bioplastic could compost within weeks by using enzymes. They were awarded a $2M NSF grant to continue their sustainable plastics research and Aaron Hall, co-author of the bioplastic and the enzyme-coating publications, has commercialized the lab’s discoveries by starting Intropic Materials.
